About Me

Hi, I am Anya. I’ve been a storyteller through the art of dance and acting for the past two decades. As a little girl I began my training in Russia and then moved to the US to dance professionally.  I auditioned for “So You Think You Can Dance USA “and it changed my course of life. Later on I joined the show as a choreographer and an All Star. After being one of the lead dancers in Dancing With the Stars Live in Las Vegas In 2013 I moved to London to star on BBC One's, Strictly Come Dancing, where I became the last female professional girl standing with my celebrity partner, Patrick Robinson form Casualty. The following year, I joined the other side of the show and worked with the producers. In 2018, I had a pleasure to teach and perform with the football legend and personality Chris Kamara “Kammy” for Sport Relief. I performed on the Academy Awards and the Fox TV series Bones as a choreographer and guest performer. Later, I made the leap to the big screen in the feature film, Rock of Ages, with Tom Cruise and Mary J Blige. Going back to my love of theatre, I had an honour to headline in Burn The Floor on Broadway which finished it's 20 country worldwide tour on the West End Stage.

I’ve directed and choreographed my own shows in the UK for the past 5 years with my long-time dance partner of 19 years Pasha Kovalev. The Body Instinct was created in 2008 but was put on hold due to my travelling and commitments. In 2017 I followed MY Instinct to go back to my teachings. I am excited to follow my passion of guiding women to connect to their inner beauty and strength combining all of my knowledge and exposure to other disciplines of movement such as yoga and breath. The Body Instinct motto is See it. Know it. Feel it. Be it.
